La vivienda se implanta en un lote urbano entre medianeras, en el barrio de Punta Mogotes, ciudad de Mar del Plata. El proyecto parte de una premisa central: integrar interior y exterior mediante espacios intermedios que modulen la transición entre lo público y lo íntimo, entre la calle y el corazón doméstico.
La morfología de la vivienda se configura como un sistema de piezas articuladas, donde los llenos y vacíos establecen una relación dinámica entre masa y aire, luz y sombra.
Esta alternancia permite que la presencia del exterior acompañe la vida cotidiana, reforzando la continuidad visual, climática y sensorial entre las distintas áreas.
La secuencia del recorrido organiza la experiencia espacial:
1. Desde la línea municipal, la vivienda se retira, generando un primer espacio de transición donde el semicubierto vehicular y el semicubierto peatonal conforman un umbral compartido.
2. Este ámbito funciona como antesala al interior, preparando el ingreso mediante una percepción gradual del silencio doméstico.
3. Al atravesar el acceso, se llega al patio central, verdadero corazón de la vivienda, que actúa como articulador climático, lumínico y social. Su orientación estratégica favorece el asoleamiento natural durante todo el día, garantizando iluminación, ventilación y confort térmico en los espacios interiores.
4. Hacia el fondo, la vida interior se abre nuevamente al patio posterior, accesible desde la cocina y el comedor, extendiendo el ámbito social hacia el exterior inmediato.

Álvaro SizaEste esquema espacial —frente permeable + patio central + patio posterior— permite que los ambientes principales cuenten con iluminación natural, ventilación cruzada y visuales abiertas, asegurando a la vez privacidad respecto de la calle y las medianeras.
La propuesta construye una vivienda donde lo doméstico se entiende como una continuidad fluida, sin límites rígidos entre el adentro y el afuera. La arquitectura no se concibe como un objeto aislado, sino como un espesor habitable, donde la luz, el aire y los patios se vuelven protagonistas del habitar cotidiano.
La materialidad acompaña esta idea: superficies blancas, continuas y sobrias consolidan una imagen austera y contemporánea, mientras la vegetación —tanto en el patio central como en el posterior— suaviza los bordes y construye una atmósfera de calma y refugio en el interior de la ciudad.
En síntesis, Casa Sur propone una forma de habitar atravesada por la luz, la sombra y el aire; por la transición y el encuentro, en diálogo permanente entre lo construido y lo natural.
The dwelling is set on an urban plot between party walls, in the Punta Mogotes neighbourhood, city of Mar del Plata. The project departs from a central premise: to integrate interior and exterior through intermediate spaces that modulate the transition between the public and the intimate, between the street and the domestic core.
The morphology of the dwelling is configured as a system of articulated pieces, where filled volumes and voids establish a dynamic relationship between mass and air, light and shadow.
This alternation allows the presence of the exterior to accompany everyday life, reinforcing the visual, climatic and sensory continuity between the different areas.
The sequence of the journey organises the spatial experience:
1. From the building line, the dwelling sets back, generating a first transition space where the semi-covered vehicular and pedestrian areas form a shared threshold.
2. This space functions as a vestibule to the interior, preparing the entry through a gradual perception of domestic silence.
3. Upon crossing the entrance, one arrives at the central courtyard, the true heart of the dwelling, which acts as a climatic, light and social articulator. Its strategic orientation favours natural sun exposure throughout the day, guaranteeing illumination, ventilation and thermal comfort in the interior spaces.
4. Towards the rear, the interior life opens again to the back courtyard, accessible from the kitchen and dining room, extending the social area towards the immediate exterior.

The proposal builds a dwelling where the domestic is understood as a fluid continuity, without rigid boundaries between inside and outside. Architecture is not conceived as an isolated object, but as an inhabitable thickness, where light, air and courtyards become the protagonists of everyday dwelling.
The materiality accompanies this idea: white, continuous and sober surfaces consolidate an austere and contemporary image, while the vegetation — both in the central and rear courtyards — softens the edges and builds an atmosphere of calm and refuge within the city.
In synthesis, South House proposes a way of dwelling traversed by light, shadow and air; by transition and encounter, in permanent dialogue between the built and the natural.
